My first trekking experience
It all started when I watched this movie “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”. I got so much inspired from Bunny’s and Naina’s characters. Especially Bunny’s character was very intriguing. Those who watched that movie would understand what I’m talking about. I will talk more about that movie in one of my next articles. This article is all about my first trekking experience.
I had been planning to go on a trek from so many months. And also I got a bit inspired when I heard trekking stories from other people. For over a month I had been looking for good websites where I can book for trekking. I found a few good ones but I always parked them to view later. But few weeks later something stuck me and with all this pandemic still going on, I realized life is too short not to dare, explore and live up to our passions. So I instantly booked one to Kurinjal peak which is under Kudremukh National Park.
I always wanted to go and explore all on my own and I wanted to meet new people and learn from their experiences and understand their perspectives in life. And finally this trek directed me to experience all of those. I went for trekking with a bunch of strangers. And I was all on my own and it was a kind of an adventure for me.
We had almost all age group people covering the trek with us. I was very fascinated to see so many middle aged and old people trekking at this age. I got along with many of them pretty soon. We had so much time to listen to each other’s stories and experiences in life. The trek was amazing with the nature covering all around us filled with beautiful forests and the streams. There were all kinds of animal and plant kingdom and I couldn’t ask for more.
It was a very unique and incredible experience. Interacting with the local people and understanding the local culture and tradition was so much fun along with interacting with the people in the trekking group. On the way back, we visited Belur’s Chennakeshava temple. How could one miss not visiting that temple? It has amazing architecture with good amount of historical background. Overall the trip was very fun filling and knowledge gaining. I’m very excited to go for more treks and to carry more experiences in my life.
